Sunlit Workshop’s paper document that travels with a handmade work. It is our own title — not a legal standard, not a museum dossier, and not a substitute for a live chip check.
What it is
- The maker: Sunlit Workshop.
- Who the work was made for.
- Title of the work, and materials and blanks as recorded.
- The permanent workshop serial (for example SW-2026-915209).
- A QR code to the public register, plus a short typeable URL for that serial.
What it is not
- Not a certificate of authenticity — that is a separate signed PDF. Check a PDF signature.
- Not live-proof — only a cryptographic chip tap in the Sunlit Verify companion app proves the tag is present right now.
- Not a title of ownership, bill of sale, or legal chain-of-custody instrument.
- Not investment advice or a claim that the work is “investment-grade.”

- Scan the QR on the slip with your phone camera. It opens the work’s page in the workshop register.
- Or type the printed serial at provenance.sunlitworkshop.com — the same host printed under the QR.

Questions people ask
Is “Receipt of Provenance” a standard legal or archival term?
No. It is Sunlit Workshop’s own document title for the paper slip that accompanies a handmade work. It is not a universal legal instrument or museum-standard provenance dossier.
What does a Receipt of Provenance include?
The maker (Sunlit Workshop), who it was made for, the title of the work, materials and blanks as recorded, the workshop serial (SW-YYYY-NNNNNN), a QR code to the public register, and a typeable verify URL for that serial.
Is it a certificate of authenticity?
No. The signed certificate of authenticity (COA) is a separate PDF. The Receipt of Provenance is the thermal paper slip that travels with the work.
Does scanning the QR prove the object is present and genuine?
No. Scanning the QR or typing the serial proves the serial matches our workshop register. Only a live cryptographic chip tap in the Sunlit Verify companion app proves the tag is real and present right now.
Is it a title of ownership or investment advice?
No. It records that we made the work for someone and how to look up its public register page. It does not transfer title, establish chain of custody in a legal sense, or claim investment value.
